This flag is made from heavyweight spun polyester and engineered to allow wind to pass through, reducing the stress on the flag. PANAMA – Sectioned into four equal sized quarters, the current Panamanian flag was adopted in 1903. The top left and bottom right quarters are white, symbolizing the peaceful yet equal division of the two major parties; the Liberals, whose red color occupies the upper right quarter, and the Conservatives, represented by the color blue in the lower left quarter. A blue five point star in centered in the upper left white quarter, while a similar star, in red, is centered in the lower right whit quarter.
